Some of you know, my mother after waiting four years finally saw an Oncologist kindly arranged by Marie Curie. After seeing the Oncology Consultant, referred to a surgeon to have the cancer cut out.
Surgery planned for the 14th November - cancelled, 21st November cancelled and today my mum went into surgery at 8am. She's still in there now. 14.26pm. Rang the hospital, they wont finish for at least another two hours, then of course recovery (said two hours) and finally if all goes well, back onto a specialist ward (high dependency ward) about 6-7pm'ish.
Shucks sitting here waiting, it's like watching paint dry
If she recovers from all this, two positives: no cancer and will no longer be a Coeliac. This Christmas can eat a normal meal (no more pureed gluten free food). Ok she'll have to take enzymes as so much will have been cut out - a minor issue in the big picture.
Grrrrr - trying to keep my mind busy/occupied - not easy.
Rant over with lol.
