    buying mobility

i recently asked motability if a family member could purchase my mobility car as it is comming to the end of the lease.apparently this could be done in the past but new rules means only the person the car is leased to can purchase the car.i got a good price from mobility and have gone ahead and purchased the car.

That's really good that you can buy your car. How much did they sell it to you for and what car is it. .just want to have an idea.

Yes you can buy the car, and then let your friend/relative buy it from you. You can then take another lease out if you wish.

we bought our 61 plare Vauxhall Meriva 1.7cdti SE auto, cost £6,725, only had 8,000 miles on the clock and when I paid over the phone I asked for the car to be registered in my daughters name which Motability did,

Received the £250 good condition payment shortly afterwards,

I also received a £55 fine from DVLA for not informing them I had sold the car, but Motability sorted that out.

there was identical cars on forecourts for sale at £9,000 so we thought it was a good deal at £6,725 we knew the history of the car, as you don't get awarranty with the car only 12 months MOT.
