    Suggestions?

I wondered if anyone had any suggestions of a website or anything that provides holidays for disabled people that they could recommend.

Or maybe a place or location that they also thought was good.

I am thinking I need a break next year, I haven't been for nearly twenty years and I've been down about my disabilities, but want something to focus on and look forward to and to expand a bit from here.

So does anyone have any suggestions, anything is welcome.

I am not wheelchair bound, however steps are a no go.

    Thank you.

Not been on a holiday in years. I've been very depressed with waiting for my transfer from DLA to PIP and would love to have a break - like you no steps. I'll be watching this thread, hopefully someone will be able to provide a suggestion.

I replied to this some hours ago, seems the mods are still pondering whether to submit it.
My previous reply. I said something like I too could do with a break so will be watching this thread for recommendations. I cannot manage steps either.

It depends what you are looking for. These days, accessible hotels are commonplace, so if that's all you need, there are loads of options. Will that do, or do you need some sort of specialist service or equipment? What sort of budget do you have?

I'm looking for anything really, I don't know what would I fancy really, just need somewhere different so am open for any suggestions, but somewhere warm and not cold, no skiing.

I don't need any special service really or equipment. Just after some ideas or recommendations as to where was good for other people.

There are companies who can recommend certain hotels or apartments that are accessible. These are not escorted holidays.

Depends whether you like activity holidays, beach holidays, culture holidays, adult only breaks or escorted holidays.

If you are single you might want to try a singles escorted trip abroad. I think you might enjoy sharing a new experience and adventure with like minded people.

    Thank you birdwatcher.

Thank you Lighttouch. I'm off to have a look at the link. A change of scenery would be nice - though will opt out of the activity.

Amy. The reason why I suggested this company is because I have travelled with them before. Three of us stayed at
Mar Y Sol, Los Cristianos, Tenerife .
It's an international hotel. Lots of fresh fruit and salads. The accessible room I stayed in was on the ground floor and had its own patio.
There's an accessible bus that picks you up at the airport and we took a few excursitions out to various attractions.
We pretended to belong to an accessible holiday company and in the evenings we used to visit 5 star hotels looking at how accessible they were. That way we'd get invited to stay and enjoy 5 star entertainment - very naughty but fun. )

    Lighttouch: Sounds naughty but fun
My problem would be travelling alone but I am in dire need of a break, my mother is terminal and I have my own physical problems along with depression etc. I started having a browse through the site and found a few others.
At the moment, if nothing else I'm enjoying looking and planning.
    Thank you.
