I have been watching a lot of the games.
Last night, I predicted first goalscorer and the result in the Holland game. Unfortunately, my partner did not trust my judgment and did not put a bet on, lol. I also said Spain would lose and Croatia would win.
So far I have been pretty good at my predictions.
Alas, I predict England will not progress from the group stage
I hope I am proved wrong.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

I have predicted the last 5 champions league finals in a row..everyone else bets, but I don't!
That is quite a few pints people owe me, lol.

I've been right for most of the matches so far this world cup.

Knockout stage starts tomorrow, 6 European from 13, 5 south American from 6, 3 central and North American from 4, 2 African from 5 and 0 Asian from 4. A feast awaits.

I can recall world cups right back to the 70's. I think, so far, this in terms of football is the best and the local supporters have come out in huge numbers. I do worry what might happen on Friday if Colombia end Brazil's progress and the "party" ends early. Politically the world cup has been a PR disaster for the Brazilian government and behind the scenes, transportation, hotels etc. have not been up to scratch. I think the IOC will be looking closely with RIO 2016 ever closer and preparation's way behind schedule. If RIO does take place I shall be interested in the level of spectator support.
