The Big Event - EventCity, Manchester (Fri 16 May - Sat 17 May)

The Big Event is Motability’s biggest event of the year. Held entirely indoors over two days at EventCity, Manchester, it's your chance to see the largest ever display of Motability vehicles in the UK!

For some reason the link above won't highlight.

Is anyone else having problems opening the pdf that shows what cars you can test drive? I have tried on my home laptop and on my work pc but just can't open it. It gets part of the way then seems to get stuck and I am left with a blank page. I can open it on my phone but reading it on a 4 inch screen is rather difficult!

Link which Lighttouch added above: http://www.motability.co.uk/whats-on...d/one-big-day/

Link to pdf showing cars available to test drive (from my dropbox account): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...oTestDrive.pdf

Link to all cars on display: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...sOnDisplay.pdf

I'm treating my new daughter to the event, she loves cars (model ones anyway) and afterwards we'll head next door to LegoLand Manchester!! (more a teat for me than her).

So if any of you are going, I'll be there from 10am on the Friday - don't want to hit rush-hour getting in to Manchester from Preston, the M61 would be a car park any earlier!

Catlover and Paul - will try to get there myself early on Friday. I believe all electric scooters have been pre-booked already so I'll just wing it and hope to persuade the organisers to loan me a scooter for a few hours on the day.

I wonder if they are open to bribery - a fiver or an Eccles cake - which do you think will work!

Fortunately I had the foresight to book a scooter weeks ago. My confirmation email said I had to collect it no later than 11.30am so that might be a good time to hang around and try to nab one that hasn't been collected.

Thanks Paul. It's a shame a couple of the cars I really want to test drive are not available to test drive with hand controls but at least some are so hopefully I can have a go at driving a larger vehicle.

Planning on getting to the event on Friday by 10am with the off chance I can hire a scooter as I missed out pre-booking one. If none are available I'll give it a miss.

May bump into you Catlover and Paul. If you see a scooter in the Cafe and a guy with a crutch, light brown trousers and dark brown shoes it's probably me.

If I get in I'll take a few photos to post here.
