The Homelands Trust-Fife is a registered Scottish charity (SC027281). It was set up in 1998 to carry out the wishes of Miss Isabel Paxton of Lundin Links, who generously bequeathed her estate, “Homelands”, to charity. Her wish was to establish and maintain a facility to enable people affected by a range of disabling conditions to have a holiday or a break from living with a long-term condition.

This exciting project, to build four luxury, accessible, self-catering holiday cottages and a disability drop-in centre overlooking the River Forth in Lundin Links, Fife is rapidly taking shape. Three of the cottages will sleep four (six with a sofa bed) and the fourth will sleep eight. Building work is due to be finished by the summer of 2014.

Adjacent to the cottages will be a drop-in centre, to be known as the Paxton Centre in memory of Miss Paxton. It will have therapy and meeting rooms, a kitchen area, open plan office space, toilet facilities, and handyman’s and gardener’s storage space. It will be available for use by Fife residents affected by a range of disabling conditions. Their family, friends and carers will also be welcome. Visitors to the cottages who are affected by disability will also be able to make use of the facility.
