This is one of the most effective campaigning groups and disability activists. I'd bookmark this group if you want to be in the know and get involved with demonstrations or conferences.

What next ?? - my monies on the Work House.
Are the counciles being given addtional funds to cope with this extra expense? After all they gave funds when tenants were required to pay a part towards council rents last year year?
In theory this would or could work if the appropriate funds were given to councils. You'd hope they'd be more aware of the needs of their residants than a distant local governemtn office. Problem is, in the real world most of us live in , councils don't have a great reputation for spending money wisely , and it's the general public who pay the price for this when their budget runs out for that year. It's always been standard Tory policy to decentralise as much as they can to local rather than central governemnt.
