Not a question for me personally, but have just been told it might affect a family friend in the near future. What happens with interim assessment rate when appealing a failed ESA assessment which was a joint claim with a spouse or partner? When the spouse/partner on the joint claim is fit and well.? No DLA or PIP involved.

Do they get paid double assessment rate or equivalent? Does the fit partner have to meet any DWP requirements ? Had never considered a joint claim in these circumstances as being even possible. Thinking the fit partner would be told to sign up for JSA or find a job.
