ok ive just recieved my DLA at the higher rate they also sent me details saying im entitled to free tax with a certificate,
i have a car still taxed to end of december but i will need to change it for my needs , can i still claim on the free tax disc now ?
or do i have to try to get a car on motability and how do i go about that ???
need advise please

You don't have to get a Motability car, you can also claim a part-refund on your current tax disc when your 'disabled' class one arrives.

You don't have to have a Motability car at all, if you don't want to. If your present car is ok for you, keep it and just claim the tax. The extra income will go towards the running of the car you have. I prefer my present automatic and the payments to keep it running, rather than a motobility car.
I did the same for the first 3 years of receiving DLA, I financed a car privately, and we are now able to afford that one and a Motability car.
