I like upbeat music everything from 60's to present day
country - hip hop
rock - reggae
soul - indie
punk - cheesy pop
love to screech along ruining perfectly good songs with my wailing xx
My faves are Celtic Rock - so bands like Capercaille and Wolfstone.
I still listen to what I listened too as a student. Joy Division, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd to name a few. However I like to hear a wide variety with the one exception ... RAP.

Im a bit of a mixed bag, as i like Runrig, The Jam, and also classical music, a bit mixed but hey whatever gets you through

How funny as James is a Manchester band. In fact. Manchester can claim to fame a few golden oldies like Davy. Jones from the Monkees, Oasis, M-People lead singer Helen ....., . Simply Red lead singer Nick Hucknal, David Grey lived a mile away from my place.
talking of singing it's time to throw open the door and windows then take a refreshing cold shower while singing. Lucky neighbours. Lol
i think I'm more of an Indie lover but I enjoy big band and soprano opera, Cold Play - very varied!

Music was my first love and music will be my last, Sunday 7/7 was my birthday pressie and got Satch in 3D Blu Ray, saw him live three times in my prime.
