Not forgetting many middle class and upper middle class people claim benefits, people have to remember you can win the Lottery and get some of these welfare benefits. The people who get caught on the whole are the people who go out end up paragliding have photo's taken a boy friend who is no longer friendly reports the person or the other way around.

The DWP do not care if you go on holiday in or out of the country since most holidays only last two weeks, if your going for 28 days you have to be careful but even then they are not interested if your two or three days late coming home, they are looking for people who may have two homes one here one in another country and you illegally claiming benefits.

If your going on holiday just remember you cannot go skiing if you cannot walk unless your using a disability ski, you cannot climb a mountain if your laid up in bed at home, you cannot go para gliding or parachuting and if you do then get the photo printed away from local shops, out of the six people I know who have had problems it was past boy friends who reported them, a local photo print shop who reported a women he knew was disabled para gliding, another was her husband who sent in the photo of his ex wife coming down a water chute.

The DWP would not have the time to check all of our passports and away having a holiday is not illegal

Yes that's right! There are people living in other countries and still claiming or just not intending to return.
The person at DWP on my last call used the term 'strictly speaking' you should inform them and 'It should not matter if it is Cornwall or Columbia'. For once they seemed indifferent.
But if absolutely everyone who was absent from their home (and it actually applies to even being two doors away) for ANY length of time, wrote in for permission then the DWP would be overworked. Why on earth should anyone need permission? It is condescending.
These adverts about being a criminal by going on holiday are low and misleading.
The whole UK system is based on policing and mistrust. It is assumed that everyone is trying to 'pull one over'.
