You'd probably get a better standard of life.

I wonder if the world will ever be "normal" again. I heard on the news today that registry offices have banned certain terms from the marriage ceremony. They are, " to have and to hold" and maybe more importantly for us, " in sickness and in health". Apparently they are too religous
If you make your own vows they have to be sanctioned by the registrar first.

Nonsense breeds nonsense and in turn there will be no end to the nonsense.

    The Country has gone mad.

Re civil ceremony - are they replacing the words or is the tiny worthless ceremony going to become even more miniscule?

Just the latest in a long line of injustices.

I presume Boo is referencing the fact that the article is about Liverpool. I lived over that way for several years. It served to affirm my love of Yorkshire. I cannot concur with Boo's sentiment

Put a pound on the floor in my area, they'd rip you to bits to get it, and that the working staff at the job center.

Dunno about anyone else, I quite fancy a five year spell in jail... no more form filling, no more struggling to balance a dwindling source of income against expenditure, no more wondering if I can live on two or sometimes one meal a day - you get three whole meals in prison, every day of the week and a lot of time to lie down when you're in a lot of pain. Sounds like a care home compared with what most of us are having to put up with out here in the big world.
