Lightbulb Pompous Parliamentary Puppets...We Should All Boycott Baroness Thatcher's Funeral....

What a load of pompous parliamentary puppets, I've rarely heard such incredulous superficial aristocratic brown-nosing speeches from our government with regards to anyone who has died, as they have, over the death of Baroness Thatcher.
Even her 'friends' turned against Baroness Thatcher when she was Prime Minister when her own cabinet ousted her from government before she could do even more damage to the country.

There were few honest words spoken with regards to the brutal reality that faced millions of people that had to deal with the cuts under the last Tory government but here is one:

MP David Winnick criticised the "human cost" of Thatcher's policies, and said MPs should be free to criticise her time in government.

The veteran Labour MP, who was first elected to parliament in 1966 said it would be hypocritical for him not to voice his thoughts on the "brutal contempt" with which she treated "millions of working people." In an impassioned speech in the House of Commons he said:

"What was done under her premiership, the way in which the policies that have been praised here today were carried out, in my view, and indeed the view of these benches at the time, were highly damaging and caused immense pain and suffering to ordinary people."

Now with all the current round of taxes, cuts and caps it is not only ordinary people that are suffering, but the most vulnerable people of our crumbling society, the disabled, and yet the government are going to spend X amount of money, probably hundreds of thousands of pounds if not a million or even more than that on a 'Ceremonial Funeral with Full Military Honours'. How dare they.....How.... Dare.... They!!!

The loudest protest that could easily be done and would be heard and would be seen (or rather not seen) by the international media that will be covering this pompous procession is to do absolutely......... NOTHING...............BOYCOTT the Iron Lady's funeral, may she 'rust' sorry 'rest' in peace.......this means don't watch it on TV either, and hopefully the streets will look as empty as the following video....

    http://youtu.be/1WhhSBgd3KI

If the streets are full of people for the funeral procession, even if only to see the Queen and other high ranking officials and celebrities, then that footage will be used by historians in the future to prove that Baroness Thatcher was well liked and respected and was good for the country which is blatantly wrong, the historians, like our government will and are creating a false history.

Remember, Baroness Thatcher said in an interview, when asked what she thought was her greatest achievement said “New Labour”. That alone should tell us that Old Labour were right for the workers, the poor, the disabled and otherwise disenfranchised population.

Funny really but without Thatcher we'd not have had increase in benefits or DLA with a new car every three years, she brought it in. Labour fought hand and tooth to stop it she believed the old handicapped vehicles the old three wheelers were unfit .

MY benefits went up by £20 a week and I applied for DLA and won it.

how times have changed with labour this week saying they backed totally PIP's

    Treborc,

DLA was introduced in 1992 under the Tory government of which John Major was Prime Minister from 1990 - 1997, not under Margaret Thatcher.

Thatcher did not become Prime Minister until 4 May 1979 up until 1990. Before that the Prime Ministers were Labour's Harold Wilson from 4th March 1974 - 5th April 1976 and then Labour's James Callaghan from 5th April 1976 - 4th May 1979

Introduction of the new Mobility Allowance

The Mobility Allowance was a new cash benefit, introduced by the Government in 1976, to allow recipients to choose the best way of meeting their mobility needs, whether driving a car, using taxis or getting a mobility scooter.

The Mobility Allowance was a positive advance but it soon became clear that it was not enough to buy and run even the smallest car.

So, the then Secretary of State for Health and Social Services invited the late Lord Goodman to consider how disabled people could affordably obtain a vehicle using this allowance, and the result was Motability, established in 1977 with all party support.

Motability was set up as a charity so it could also raise funds and make grants, in order to provide customers with a complete mobility package, even if their allowance would not cover the type of car and adaptations that they needed.

As the above states, Mobility Allowance came in, in '76 so that was under a Labour Government and Motability came in, in '77 also under a Labour Government.

Treborc, you also said "how times have changed with labour this week saying they backed totally PIP's"

Of course they are backing PIP's, as you said "Labour fought hand and tooth to stop it" (DLA) and now they will stop DLA and stop tens of thousands of disabled people from getting a new car (and thus their freedom and independence) every three years by reducing the walking criteria for PIP from 50 metres to 20 metres.....so they will ensure that they get their own way eventually....

Labour brought in Mobility Allowance and Motability and the Tories brought in DLA but now they both want rid of it, it is my opinion that Blair, and many of his Blairite co-conspirators were planted into the Labour party, to ensure no ‘People’s Party’ would remove the protections and advantages handed to the wealthy and powerful at the expense of the poor. This is exactly what we are seeing- no effective opposition, a one party state of capitalists.

To be honest, I don’t think there’s an ounce of difference between Cameron and Miliband; puts me in mind of the old Stork margarine advertisement- “Can you tell the difference between Stork and butter?” Well, yes; one’s a cheap, rather tasteless substitute for a rather more expensive option that’s really doing the same job.
