Qashqai Update and new question

Hi everyone
Not been on for a few weeks. I was in hospital and since I picked up my new Qashqai, I have been very busy!!
Would just like to say I love my new Qashqai and i am certainly enjoying not being stuck indoors all day.
I am currently managing to get between 44 - 48mpg which I am told is not bad at all considering the wintery weather. I know the brochure says + 50 something as the official blurb on mpg, but who really believes that?!! I love the fact that on your dashboard is a pic of a little gear stick and it has an arrow that flashes up or down to tell you the best time to change gear for best fuel economy. I am totally obessed with it now and it really has helped me save on fuel i think.

The question I have is that my only bugbear is stepping up to get in the vehicle. Because it is high up (which i like) I have found my left hip hurts a bit getting in sometimes, so i want to get a set of side running bars so i can stand on them to get in. Would Motability have an issue with me fitting these on it?


BTW...Paul, I saw the pic of you and your wife on the Qashqai forum. You look a lovely couple. If you want to see me, I have posted my pic on there with my grandaughter.

I think as long as it can be put back as standard you'll be fine. I suppose it's like adding and removing tow bars.

In fact I know of a few people on the QQ forum who have done just that to their Motability Qashqais.

hi folksi have had my qashqai n tec plus for16 mounths and my avg is only 35mpg but love the car can slide in and out no probs.

Mine is the new 360 Dickson. Much the same as you with a few cosmetic differences.
I just have the getting in prob because of arthritis in my hip. The steps will sort it out.
