The Mobility Roadshow in 1983 was the first event to offer opportunities to test drive production model vehicles with a variety of adaptations, enabling people with disabilities the rare opportunity to ‘try before you buy’.

In 1983, visitors’ details were recorded by hand and a sticker was issued to show that they were approved to get behind the wheel. Nowadays, visitors can pre-register online and print off their test drive badge at home, so that they’re ready for their first drive as soon as their licence is checked by DVLA staff, who are also on hand to answer any queries.

This year for the first time those of you eager to test drive the latest adapted vehicles will be out on the open roads around Telford, as always accompanied by an experienced driver.

If you haven’t already done so, pre-register here to receive the latest news as it unfolds, including when test drive registration is open. And make a note now to take your licence on the day to check in on arrival.
