    Peugeot 3008 further investigation

I apologise for starting a new thread on this car but it deserves in depth investigation. I only have 4 left on my list...

Ford s-max. Basic zetec spec is £795, another £700 for the titanium is too high.

Kia Sportage. Mid spec K2 is £999. Already too high with another £800 for the K3

Nissan qashqai +2. High spec n-tec is £699 which is great value

Peugeot 3008. Top spec allure is £899, but MK dealer rang to offer a £300 discount, so £599.

The only concern is fuel consumption. Can anyone verify what the get from the manual gearbox?

    Many thanks

    Ron G

    Hi Ron,

As you didn't state which engine/fuel I'm guessing you mean the 1.6 Diesel?

The Honest John website allows drivers of any car to input their own economy figures and the Peugeot's comes in at an average of 47mpg with a range from 41.4 to 53.3mpg. http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/...08-2009/16-hdi

You may want to check the 3008 forum before you make your decision. http://www.peugeotcentral.co.uk/forum-46.html

They will have all the answers you are looking for about the car.

Also as Peugeot and Citroen use the same engines it may be worth looking at the Citroen Picasso forums too http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/pic...troen-picasso/ and as it's a similar size/weight the economy should be similar http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/...4-picasso-2007

Oh, and finally the 1.6HDi engine is also used in MINI's Cooper D (110hp), although I wouldn't bother comparing economy as the weights of the cars obviously differ massively - but it does show a good indication of reliability if BMW/MINI use it too.
