Not really.
LCW simply means you could prepare for work (write CV's, write practice application letters, look at what jobs are available, maybe do dome training, etc.).
It doesn't matter if you would never be able to succeed with any job application, or could hold down the job if you did, just that you can do some preparation.
"Expected to be able to work in future"? In who's medically qualified expectation is that?
It's just government/DWP soundbite propaganda to hide the truth, as usual.
In reality it's a penny pinching thing.
They were actually trying a new one last year, almost unbelievable but ....
Because they had no training courses to send you on, and because you didn't have to go to the jobcentre for work focused interviews because of covid, some bright spark at the DWP decided that was a reason for saying that everyone could do the Work Related Activities that they could give you because they didn't have any that they could give you - and so everyone should be found LCW and not LCWRA.
Nobody ever quite stated it like that, but you could see that reasoning in a few decisions that got taken to MR/appeal.
(TBH because they haven't had any training courses they can mandate you to since referral to the Work Programme ended in April 2017 they had been trying variations of it even before covid and the lockdowns).
