When am I officially living on my own to qualify for ESA SDP?

Unfortunately my Father was admitted to hospital a couple of weeks ago and has been diagnosed as having an untreatable brain tumor and will be going into a nursing home when he is discharged from hospital.

After reading the Government website, because I now qualified for the SDP, I phoned up to to report a change of circumstances.

    As per the website:-

Disability Premium or Income Related ESA + PIP Daily living Component + Living On My Own + Nobody Gets Carer's Allowance For Looking After Me = Severe Disability Premium

I was told that I did not qualify for SDP until my Father goes into a nursing home. I'm saying that I qualified as soon as he went into hospital.

    Who is right?

They are; because while you are in hospital you are still classed as living at home.

So your father won't have officially left your home until he goes to live elsewhere.
I don't know everything. - But I'm good at searching for, and finding, stuff.
