Reading the DVLA guff on current licence renewal everything is working as normal except once you apply or send a renewal form back to DVLA it’s taking longer (a week longer I think) than normal.
Can’t answer your question for sure because my licence doesn't come up for renewal for another 18 months but if there saying its just taking longer then you should get a reminder.
thanks for the reply chrisk,their site is very confusing,on one page it states dont send in any paper applications until further notice then on another page it says a reminder will be sent out 56 days before the licence expires but we are dealing with the dvla who tend to make things up as they go along.
They finally updated their website on 4th june stating that photocard licenses that expire between 1st february 2020 to 31 august 2020 will be automatically extended by seven months from the expiry date
