Hi all just wondering i am moving in just over a week and know its late but a friend was going to help me move now they have not got a van is there any finiancial help i could get or any physical help i could get i dont have no family or friends so am really on my own except for the one friend who i do have who can help.I recieve E.S.A (support group) and D.L.A so do get disability benefits many thanks.

Call the council. Ours have a handyman service who will come and help. They can also put you in touch with charities local to you which may also offer help.

Hire a man and van is the simple option.
As to financial help then no help from what I can gather as I asked and was told yes no problem, if I had just come out of prison.
Well thanks for all the info a man and van is going to be £200+ of which i have not got!! and i do believe its going to take 2 men as getting wardrobes down the stairs is a bit difficult with one set of hands.
So i will ring my local counci offices and see if they can put me in the right direction and il ring C.A.B thanks guys

As Paul says the Council is another good idea. Mine run a scheme for helping tenants in certain areas of housing needs.

Do you receive Income Support? I f so you may be able to get a grant towards moving costs or a budgeting loan.
Some neighbourhood charity volunteers might be able to lend a helping hand. CAB is also a good place to seek help from and perhaps you could get a few neighbours to help move the stuff into the van? Then upon reaching the destination, get the new neighbours to help then?
They would probably help but sometimes money is a big thing. And in order to move you first need to consider the moving cost and the other expenses. It's a hassle thing. Besides, getting through moving can cost a ton of cash. In fact, you might need a payday loan to help pay for it all. You have to pay the rent bill twice for the month, you have to pay the trash bill twice, you have to pay the cable bill twice, and that is not all. Every little thing seems to pile up and cost a ton of money, making relocating more costly than you know.
