DWP say they will scrap 80% target for upholding MRs.

In a written response to the W&P Select Committee the DWP have agreed to scrap their "internal measurement" (they still won't admit it's a target) for upholding 80% of decisions at MR.

    A quote from the letter:

I am very concerned to hear that the committee has taken evidence that initial decisions are being "rubber stamped" at mandatory reconsideration.

Note that wording carefully; the Minister for Disabled People is not saying that she is concerned that MRs are/were being rubber stamped, she's saying that she's concerned to hear that evidence says so.

They are supposed to have introduced new measures to stop this as well.

We spent 30 minutes on the phone to DWP re MR and report from assessment, they agreed with all the lies and omissions that the assessor had said, or not said. I am now waiting on a paper based appeal, as they have three inches of paperwork. Total waste of money all round, second time for me too!

My husbands MR was refused. They received the letter and replied on the same day.If they hadn't stated that they had the evidence we sent them I would doubted that they even read the letter.I still think they only skipped through it.My husband just said leave it because it was making him ill all the worry. He was awarded standard care and enhanced mobility when he applied for PIP.
