Motorized tilt chair - odd noises!

Hi all
My Mum has a motorised wheelchair which can also tilt her backwards to a lying style position. The problem is, the lifting ram makes a terrible noise when in action (similar to nails on a blackboard!) The manufacturers have told her there is nothing can be done (!) and I just wondered if anyone else had had similar problems and might be able to suggest a solution

Any chance you could say what make and model this chair is?

Maybe then we could research what the mechanism is and make some suggestions.

You say "lifting ram", did you mean "arm"?

If it's a ram I know quite a bit about hydraulics and pumps.
