    Lt,

Thought I had already seen a robot to be honest. My favourite bit in report, along lines of 'the MSE (mental function) did not appear to....', on the Channel 4 documentary, it was said they input responses and get computer led grading for mental state etc. or along those liines. Did a bit of mental health training, and tick boxes definitely do not help, with a lot of conditions, nor can you get a proper impression of someone in what is a very short period diagnostically speaking.

I had plenty of specialist reports, on no operation available as a cure, permanent and degenerative conditions, physical side. But next year will go through it all again, more money down the drain. But hey ho, at least it's not our money going down the drain as taxpayers. Oh hold on a mimute it is, yes disabled but unlike some like to try to say, still paying my taxes.

I know that lots of people say they don't need a mobile or smartphone but I find them great for good communication.

This morning, at 8am, I was sent a text message from the DWP that read . . . .

We've sent you a 'How your disability affects you' form. Please allow 7 days to receive it. It's important you fill it in carefully and return it to us by the date printed on the front page. If you don't your DLA payments will stop and we won't be able to see if we can award you PIP. Thanks

At least they don't leave you wondering what happens next.

    - So I phoned DWP re a PIP
    application on Wed 14 June
    - DWP texted me with message above sent on Thursday 15 June
    - I will receive 'How your disability affects you' within 7 working days. So I should receive it before Monday 26 June.

I got the same text at exactly the same time. Will be interesting to see the time differences in our process.

Lol they will send you one more text nagging you for the form and then they will leave you wondering until either you get a f2f or they post your decision letter.

I had 3 text messages from dwp. One at the time we made the initial call to claim pip, saying thanks for claiming pip. One the next day to say we've sent you a "how your disability affects you" form. And a text 3 weeks later saying we haven't received it yet and make sure it's returned by the due date. That's about it as far as text messages go. Apart from a letter received a few weeks later from Capita to say the dwp have passed the claim to them I've not heard anymore.

IF you cannot complete the form yourself the DWP should help you with this you need to phone them .I asked this question through the FOI and they told me that they should establish any help you may need in the initial phone call but this never happens .They would probably just point you in the general direction of the CAB when they SHOULD by their own rules send somebody out to help you with this

Hi Lighttouch I have trouble writing as well I got someone to fill in the meds, doc info and tick boxes then instead of writing on the form where it asks you to explain i got them to write plse see attached notes and then i just typed it up so for examble i put washing and bathing then underneath Q1: and typed it up i did that all the way through then at the end i added additional info and put a few bits i thought was relavent stapled them together but name and ni num on each page and put it inside the form.

    Goodluck with it

The only thing I would add to freedomeagle's, post is if you are typing up or adding sheets, as I did. Is put somewhere on each sheet, page 1 of 20, for example, so you have an indication if they then say we didn't get that bit.

Had to give bank details aswell, which seems strange as they should already have this.

I had a letter yesterday saying they have searched my DLA file and it contains no medical evidence to use for PIP. So in 18 years of getting DLA they have never asked my Dr or Consultants for any reports.
