Grand National - place your bets please - Sat 8 April

Well, I'm not a gambler but I like to place a sportsmen's bet as to who will win or come in the top four.

I always favour Irish horses as they are bred for stamina. The best age for this endurance race is
in my opinion, a horse that's about 9 years old.

So, a roll of drums please, the horse I would like to back is called

    THE LAST SAMARI

Who do you reckon will finish in the first four out of 40 runners!.

Wish it would be banned, those poor horses pushed to the limit and at risk of losing their lives.
How would we like it if we were in the same situation?

    But we are, (and some have lost/taken their lives);
it's just that our race is called "trying to claim benefits you are entitled to" instead of The Grand National.

LT a lot of people fancy that horse to win.

Personally I stopped giving my money to bookies long ago.
(You never see a bookie catching the bus).

Just put a pound on a sweepstake in the pub, at work, etc.
Whichever horse you draw out you get odds of 20:1 for the winner (then 10:1 and 2x 5:1 for the places), and all money taken gets paid out, nobody takes a cut off the top.

Just draw 2 hosses in the pub sweepstake, first one was The Last Samurai, next was Goodtoknow.

Well, when I left the house at lunchtime I picked up the post and saw a sinister white envelope which I didn't open until tonight`

I've only won £25 on some Premium Bonds I bought a year ago!

Well as this was money I was't expecting I've just gambled £10 each way on Last Samari.

    The booked odds are 19-1.

All it has to do is finish in the first 6.

However it is a big gamble because the chances are it could get taken out by a falling horse in front at fence one!

    Fingers crossed!

I picked 4 out. Put a sky diver on each!
Well I picked 1 the Mrs picked 3,I coughed up the 20 quid bet!
She picked the winner so we got 75 back which went straight in her hip "cause she picked the winner"....she says! The moral of the story is....I'm down a score and she's up 75 quid!
Hmm something not right with that bet but I can't put my finger on it....literally!! Lol
