Well it was dusk tonight and I was just closing the curtains. I saw movement in the shrubs and out popped a fully grown urban fox. It stopped looked at me, was panting with it's tongue hanging out, then quickly carried on.
It's amazing what wildlife inhabits our cities and towns.
What have you seen around your neck of the woods?
Left the dim lights of the rainy city many moons ago Didsbury lad born and bred . Where i am now our garden is regularly visited by foxes ,badgers , have seen red deer down by the river in cold winters even the occaisional otter all of which is to be expected when you live out in the sticks with the carrot crunchers . However my old school pals who still choose to dwell in sunny Mancunia tell me about all the urban wildlife they see even mink down by the river mersey in numbers now they were there when i was a lad but you didn't see them very often . The Mersey which was once the most poluted river in Europe now holds a fantastic head of fish from the lowly minnow through roach ,perch dace ,chub barbel trout and now even salmon have returned to the river .
Which is all down to the environment agency clamping down on poluters and industrial decline . The latter may have given us nice clean rivers however it has also given the nation an ever rising number of unemployed people .
At our old house there use to be a fox too. I saw it most nights or early mornings. I am not sure if it was make or female, but it was always there. I have to say that as it was there for many years I am not sure it was the same one, but I never saw more than one at a time.

A few months ago we had a Kestrel in the garden, it was high up in a tree and i though what a rare site, then it shot from the tree swooped and snatched a Blue Tit from the bird table and away again.... was a bit shocked but i guess its all part of the food chain.
Wow, that is rare. Yeah, not nice, but they have to eat too.

Foxes rats bats mice many types of birds and we live in London.
I notice no one has mentioned the greatest vermin-seems no one has spotted politicians!
