Problem with PIP f2f venue and appointment time.....

My OH received the dreaded letter this morn advising him that his f2f was at 9am at a venue that is 20+ miles from our home town. Now he does not use public transport, and does not drive and so it would have to be a taxi. The directions given are not given from our town but given as if your coming from the opposite way! We have no idea where this venue is and the map they send is as much use as a chocolate fireguard!!! We have been told the taxi can cost £50 which is a lot of money to find. I know the leaflet says we COULD possible claim it back but only if it is sanctioned.
The time is not at all suitable as he will have to get up a 5am to get ready etc (including travel time at what will be rush hour in a big city because that's where the venue is) to meet that 9am dead line.
Now on filling the form because of his depression, panick attacks, aggravated angina and stress influenced IBS, ( this is not the full list) under "further info" it was stated that the venue must be local to our home town, easy access ,lift and a disabled toilet and also no appointments before 11am .
If we ring up can we insist on a more local venue with the criteria that was mentioned on the form? Will it go against us if we ask for a later time?
My OH is already stressed and panicking over this and in truth, So am I. He's begun to have chest pain as well.
Any advice would be most welcome as to what we can do.

    Hi
You can ask for another assessment date, but be aware if you do you must attend it no matter where, or what time, or what date it is on. If you fail to attend your file will be sent back to the DWP and your claim will be closed.

Normally assessment dates are computer generated, so when you ring them you might want to explain in a bit more detail the difficulties your OH has regarding his travelling limitations. Have you asked or tried for a home assessment?.

It's just the same as one at a centre, but in your own home. The assessor will ask your husband questions relating to his difficulties, possibly do a few cognitive function tests and physical tests and generally observe him throughout.
