Have criteria... Looking for a scooter to suit!

But, on a lighter note, I have a Motability estate car coming in a few weeks so i'm going to use the car boot as a garage for my scooter. The car is fitted with a hoist into the boot rated to 94kg max weight and the boot opening is 60cm in height. <br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;So the scooter would need to be no higher than 60cm when folded down, seat removed, tiller stowed or whatever it takes to squeeze it in. Also, the heaviest lump can be no more than 94kg. I guess removing the seat would help with the weight.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;I have a few personal criteria for the scooter. It has to do 8mph or better, have a large range, have large wheels to cope with variable surfaces and be road legal.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Does anyone have any ideas for a scooter to fit the bill? I'm physically fit (except for a bilateral amputation of both feet below the knee) so disassembly of the scooter, lifting chairs&nbsp;in&nbsp;and out of the boot isn't a problem.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;I hope someone can help. I've been trying to find a suitable model online for ages to no avail. As there are so many variables;3 wheel or 4,new/seconhand etc you might be better going to a dealer for an assessment.There's one near you but maybe others.Details here.

Look for a 4 wheeled boot scooter - there are plenty secondhand ones that weigh under 90kg

an 8mph scooter tends to be heavier and larger - so as to be roadworthy. I would deffo go to a dealer and discuss. Also as you are keeping the scooter in the car permanently, look into INSURANCE. I know my wheellchiar is NOT insured if I leave it in someones car. (One of the exclusion clauses) So ask around and ask pointed questions, but do, do do insure!!

You might even consider a Motability lease hire scooter. It would cost about £70 a week over three years.

The advantage being it gives you peace of mind as insurance, breakdown, repairs, servicing are included.

Motability would also loan you a scooter if yours was off the road for repairs.

If you happen to have the cash some nearly new boot scooters can cost from £500 but insurance, breakdown, servicing are extra.

My boot scooter was only £400 brand new.
