am back but not the same person i was

have posted a few messages since been back on here.

basically over the last few years i have had a terrible time.

my step mother sadly passed away, i was sort of expecting this as she had dementia. my dad had been caring for her but what i did not expect was the passing away of my dad as well.

when he was still here he kept telling me he was okay but then i found out he had given up and was starving himself which then resulted in a sudden heart attack.

since then every day has been struggles for me, i am on medication which sort of takes the edge off things but then i get flash backs.

i was watching flog it and there was a couple on and it took them 10 years just to start getting over their loss.

i have been offered counselling but am worried it could open a big can of worms, for now it is just one day at time.

well that is what has been happening since been away from here.

I'd say go for the counselling. you need to talk to someone.

i have listened to many, talk about their loved ones and how the death of a loved one, or of many loved ones, has changed their own life, forever. Talking about the good times and the bad, has helped many people cope with bereavement.
Allowing them to voice the thoughts that they don't want to burden family members with, or to just share memories of their loved one, bereavement counselling gives them that opportunity.

How about giving it a chance.

got a call for an appointment hope it doesn't get too much for me.

Hi and you made a good decision to go for counselling - is it bereavement counselling?
The Y/P I am supporting started with that and it was really helpful.
