    Update:

I have someone from voice advocacy coming to my flat to talk and help me next week, to be honest I don't even know who they are or what they do. Must be conected to someone I've already talked too.

Advocacy is about having your views and opinions heard - not other people's.

An Advocate is someone who will ensure that you are supported in making choices which are important in your life.

    They will

-listen and support you in putting your views across
    • ensure you are included in all decisions
    • attend meetings with you
    • provide you with information
    • be honest and truthful with you
    • do things WITH you whenever we can, and FOR you when you are unable

    Update:

I have the voice advocacy man coming tomorrow

The council phoned me today about my housing application and asked me to come to the office to meet with a housing officer, I told them it is to far for me to travel so they have arranged to come to my flat next week.

Can anyone tell me what a housing officer does and what this is about ?

    Thanx

Your made an application for housing and your going to be evicted. Thats what the housing officer is all about. Assessing your situation and needs. Tell the advocacy chap, he may be able to be with you if you are nervous about it.

Yeah I was thinking of asking the advocacy man to come next week when the housing officers come, the chap at the council said 2 of them are coming. I'm going to feel so clostrophobic if 3 people in the room.

Do you think the housing officer who is coming to visit me this week will be offering me choices of council accomodation when they come out or are they just wanting to see my situation ?

I note that Kodiak's post he says he got a house within 4 weeks

I think the Housing officer will be there to take stock of your situation in the first instance. He will ask questions about what is going on and make a report. This would then go to the local Housing department who will make a decision on whether to put you on a list, offer you accommodation etc.
