    I like York, beautiful city.

I may be a bit jealous, but there again I'm lucky enough to live in Cumbria.

Despite all the floods etc. it's still a great place to live.

Well if you do come across here try to avoid - Windermere (especially Bowness), Ambleside, and any where around there.
Too many tourists, but if you know York you will be used to that.

Get away from the mortorway, come North and West, best scenery, best people.

    EDIT
I also like South Lakeland and have friends there, I just prefer the North, and the contrast between the mountains and the coast.

Sorry to hear you've not been good, hope you're doing better now.

I must say I'm a little envious of the fact your christmas sounds like my idea of bliss!

I'm having a few days of running myself ragged at the moment, I've got zero in for Christmas as I've been virtually housebound recently, but I'm pushing myself tomorrow (no doubt I'll probably pay for it though)

    Best wishes.

Well perhaps I was being a bit self centered there.
Half a bottle of whisky may have helped.

Being on my own at christmas suits me now, but it hasn't always and may not do in the future.

We all have to do the best we can at any time, and this time of year can bring back many memories.

Hope you make the shopping tomorrow, but there is still a few days yet.
PS. Stuff turkey, I've got a gammon joint for at least half the price and will enjoy it more. (and have lots of cold cuts until new year).

I have done everything and don't intend on visiting the supermarket to mix with those who are buying everything and anything, much of which will be wasted no doubt. Only us two so need very little. Our little doggy makes our Christmas, lovely to watch her open her presents.
Mind you I am looking forward to hubby opening his from me, got him a personalised plate for the new car that spells his name exactly ending with the initial of our surname.
