    Warm Homes Discount

Don't forget if you are eligible to apply for the warm homes discount from you energy supplier if they take part in it.
    It's that time of year

I got an email from Scotish Power about it last week and reapplied there and then online.

I meant to mention it on here but must have forgotten, oops.
I don't know everything. - But I'm good at searching for, and finding, stuff.

Thanks for posting that useful info. I didn't qualify last year as I was still working but have since finished work and should qualify now due to PIP & IS. I've just done an online application, but EDF say they have to see a letter dated after 1st April and I think the IS entitlement letter is dated March, hope that doesn't cause a problem.

Those on ESA need to be in either WRAG or SG. Had my assessment a week ago, so with a little luck i can apply once i receive the decision letter.

Based on the requirements of my current provider, british gas.

My daughters was dated before April but on the letter it states - From the 6th April 2015, so that should be OK I would have thought.

It is a pot of money from which people on certain benefits can claim a discount against their energy bill to keep their home warm in winter.

It is administered and paid out by the electricity companys, usually as a discount applied to your electricity bill in spring but if you have a prepayment meter it can be paid in other ways.

Go online, look up your electricity supplier and search for 'warm homes discount' which will either have an online form to fill in or a contact number.

It's worth £140 off your bill this year so well worth applying for.

It was discussed a lot in this thread:

Carl ring your provider and tell them you can't find account numbers and they will be able to find you from your address on their records.

I sorted my Warm front grant out in May .Be quick on doing it because I think the applications have to
be in by September but I might be wrong on that

Well that was quick. I applied for my daughters WHD when I started this thread and today we have a letter telling her she is to get it.
    Impressed!!
