Applied for reduction in Council Tax, but not expecting to get it.

I have applied for a reduction in Council Tax today.

My partner works and we do not get any income related benefits.

I was advised to apply on disability criteria, eg, needing a spare room for carer and adaptations to our bungalow. It has level access/ramps, wet room, grab rails etc.

I get ESA (cb support group) and enhanced rates of both components of PIP.

I used to get a 25% discount several years ago (when I was with my now ex-husband). At that time I got INCAP and HRM/HRC DLA. My husband worked and we did not live in adapted property. It was with a different council/LHA though.

So, I am not expecting to get anything but decided to apply anyway.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

I think what you should be investigating is a change to your council tax band.

Google your local council for the criteria.
