New style ESA
Hi.
I hope someone will know the answer.
After the last 4 years in employment my health has deteriorated to the point of work letting me go on ill health capability, thus I am claiming new style ESA from 8th December 2020.
I have sent the ESA50 and all available medical evidence available both NHS and private medical reports, but looking online at my GP records the DWP have asked for a gp report.
Any idea if this in normal as the last time I claimed in 2016 this never happened and I was in the support group.
thanks in advance.

Yes fairly normal anyway, and as they are not doing any Face to Face assessments during Covid they have to get evidence where they can.
By the same token though most GP's are busy with covid and vaccinations, on top of their regular work, and so do not have time to do the DWP's job for them.
You may, probably will, have a Work Capability Assessment by telephone.
At the moment the only decision that are making for new claims is 'Stay on Assessment rate ESA until we can do a F2F' or 'Go into Support Group'.
You cannot be found Fit for Work without first having a Face to Face assessment, and as they are not doing those you cannot currently be found FFW.

The GP did send details back yesterday 18/01/21.
I thought my ESA50 and the 4 different medical specialist reports would have been more than enough.
Thanks Nuke.
