Hello all,

My name is Rhian, and I'm a university English Literature student. I'm currently doing research into Disability Theory with regards to literature. For this, I'd just like to ask how you, as a disabled person in an able bodied culture, feel about literary and media representation. In my research so far, I've found that the general representation of physically and mentally impaired Incapacity Benefits claimants is shockingly negative. Would you agree with this? Could you share with me some of your opinions please?

I'm doing part of my project on Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, so if you have any opinions about the way in which Haddon presents mental disability too that'd be great to hear about.
