Rica, the research charity that provides unbiased information for older and disabled people is carrying out a national survey asking mobility scooters users for their views.

Rica wants to hear about users’ experiences of buying and using a scooter.

To answer the survey online, go to www.rica.org.uk/scootersurvey (http://www.rica.org.uk/scootersurvey) or, if prefer a print questionnaire, or in large print, then please phone Rica on 020 7427 2460.

The closing date for this survey is February 28th 2014.

Rica has already carried out research on mobility scooters. It has an online searchable database of over 450 scooters and powered wheelchairs where you can:

• search by size and type
• do quick searches to find scooters that can go on public transport or in your car boot
• print out detailed information

The Rica online guide to Choosing a mobility scooter (http://www.rica.org.uk/content/choosing-mobility-scooter) has useful information:

• how to use scooter controls, and how to find the ones that suit you best
• features to think about, like size, comfort and batteries
• where to buy a scooter and sources of funding
